Celebrity Stylist Jason Bolden creates the wardrobes of some of Hollywood’s hottest including Ava Duvernay (Director of Selma and Wrinkle in Time), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), and Tara Shahidi (Grown-ish). And the celeb who started his styling career? That would be actress Gabrielle Union!

Amuze.com caught up with Jason to chat all things women of color in fashion, how relaxed luxury defines his style aesthetic, and what he likes to splurge on.

Tell us about how you got started in the celebrity styling business and why you decided to pursue it as a full time career...
I got started in this business of celebrity styling with one of my best friends, Gabrielle Union! It’s so awesome to be able to help women of color on their fashion journey.

What is JSN Studio about?
JSN STUDIO is the interdisciplinary company I co-founded with my husband, consisting of a growing team of individuals who support the breadth of my creative output. Everything from styling to creative direction and interior design.

What’s your style aesthetic?
Relaxed luxury. I like to think about how people in the 70s vacationed...chic but with so much ease!
